ONE PEOPLE, ONE HEART (OPOH)s vision is that Am Israel is strong and unified (Achdut) and that each individual making up the Jewish nation realizes their talents, abilities and strengths, creating a healthy whole community in service to others and making the world a better place (Tikkun Olam).
Goals
ONE PEOPLE, ONE HEART (OPOH) strengthens bonds and creates community among Jews through mutual giving (chesed transactions and tzedaka), linking each person's resources, talents and abilities to:
- Provide easy access to help Jews in need;
- Establish a grassroots expression of needs from under-served Israelis;
- Bring relief to those suffering in the aftermath of war;
- Help Israelis in crisis and poverty, building dignity and increasing self-sufficiency;
- Direct funds to individuals and projects of interest in a way that umbrella funding organizations cannot;
- Increase giving throughout the Jewish community;
- Engage Jews of all backgrounds to actively participate in on-line community giving, in which they see tangible positive results through targeted giving;
- Encourage first-time donors to give;
- Facilitate large donor contributions to respond to complex and/or project needs with guidance from a charitable advisor;
- Generate a flow of continuous good deeds that extend from one person to another worldwide;
- Preserve the dignity of both the donor and recipient through the "pay-it-forward" perpetual and exponential giving program;
- Create a living bridge of relationships - Connecting Jews from many parts of the world to Israel and Israelis;
- Instill young people with the awareness and ability to take action in creating a better world; and,
- Encourage relationships among Jews of different backgrounds.
