You Helped Me So Now I Can Help, Too!

OPOH helped me out of severe debt. I am so grateful for being able to start fresh in life and really feel that what little I can do to help someone else is a small way to show my appreciation.

Recently, I found that I could be very helpful to women and their children who had no car. I am delighted to be of service to single mothers in the community by giving them free taxi service to go to the doctor or to the shouk (community market place).

Multiplying Blessings with Neighbors

Thanks to One People One Heart (OPOH), our family received a refrigerator and we received in-house care for the children and my husband and me when I had a very difficult pregnancy. After we were helped out so much, we wanted to give back in some way. The opportunity came up when a woman with several children down the street needed some help. She couldn’t leave the very young children, so my daughter went shopping for her several times until she was able to get some regular help.

I have said it many times. OPOH saved my life. If not for them, I would have never been able to be a mother to my children, much less function in my own life. I was too young when I first became pregnant with the child of a foreign worker. He has long since left the country, and could never help me with the raising of my daughter.

When I first came into contact with your organization I was twenty-three, a mother of three and a house cleaner. It was the only work available for a woman like myself, who had finished hi-school (with high grades) but could not afford to go on to a higher learning facility. I married young, but a few years later, I was aging quickly.
